🎉 Winston Engineering Travels to South Korea!

In July 2025, WE embarked on a 5-day, 4-night company trip to South Korea. From scenic bike rides to cultural Hanbok experiences, mouthwatering Korean dishes, and plenty of team bonding, it was truly a journey to remember!

Day 1 – Singapore → Incheon

Upon arriving at Incheon Airport, we were warmly greeted by Mr. Dennis Kim and Mr. Gentle Dennis, who then guided us to our first destination:

  • Aurora Skywalk Light Show

Stepping into Aurora, an immersive digital entertainment street like nothing many of us had seen before. For our team, Aurora was not just a spectacle; it was an experience that sparked curiosity, conversation, and also reflection. Walking together under whales or cosmic skies, sharing oohs and ahhs, made the trip memorable. It’s a reminder that sometimes the most powerful moments happen when art and tech combine in immersive, unexpected ways.

  • Ara Maru Skywalk & Ara Maru Waterfall

We made a stop at another Incheon attraction which is the Ara Maru Skywalk and Ara Maru Waterfall. The Ara Maru Skywalk is a semi-circular glass walkway offering panoramic views of the Ara Waterway. While, the Ara Maru Waterfall is an artificial / man-made waterfall located nearby.

  • DIY Hanji Craft Making

Our next stop was the DIY Hanji Craft workshop, where we got to experience the traditional Korean art of paper-making firsthand. Made from the inner bark of the mulberry tree, Hanji is valued for its remarkable strength, texture, and natural beauty. With guidance from local instructors, our team enjoyed designing and decorating our very own Hanji keychains; a creative and memorable keepsake from the trip.

  • Incheon Chinatown 🏮Final Stop of the Day!

Our day’s journey ended in Incheon Chinatown, a vibrant district born from Incheon’s role as an open port city since 1883. As the last stop of our day, Chinatown gave us a more relaxed ending: wandering the stalls, mingling over food, and absorbing the mingled cultures of Korea and China.

Day 2 – Incheon → Seoul

  • Nami Island

On the second day of our Korea trip, WE visited the picturesque Nami Island, famous for its tree-lined pathways and peaceful atmosphere. The island’s natural beauty, with tall metasequoia and ginkgo trees, offered a perfect escape from the city bustle.

Our fourth day in Korea took a calmer, more cultural turn as we explored the wellness side of Korean heritage. We began our day at GINWORLDART, a fascinating museum in Seoul dedicated to the story of Korean ginseng; one of the country’s most treasured natural products. Through immersive displays and interactive exhibits, we learned about ginseng’s journey from cultivation to processing and its many health benefits. The museum’s blend of art, history, and technology made the experience both educational and inspiring.
