Are you planning to replace your existing air compressor with a more energy-efficient model?

Eligible Singapore businesses may receive support under the Energy Efficiency Grant (EEG) when purchasing approved energy-efficient equipment, including selected compressed-air systems.

Eligible SMEs may receive up to 70% support, while eligible non-SMEs may receive up to 30% support, subject to grant approval, qualifying costs and the approved equipment list.

The Energy Efficiency Grant (EEG) will be extended for one year, from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027, as announced at Budget 2026.

So, what is Energy Efficient Grant (EEG)?

The Energy Efficiency Grant helps Singapore businesses reduce energy consumption by supporting the purchase of energy-efficient equipment.

There are two levels of support:

EEG Base Tier

  • For pre-approved energy-efficient equipment
  • Up to 70% support for eligible SMEs
  • Up to 30% support for eligible non-SMEs
  • Grant cap of up to S$30,000 per company

EEG Advanced Tier

  • For larger energy-efficiency projects
  • Equipment does not need to be pre-approved
  • Project must achieve more than 350 tonnes of lifetime carbon abatement
  • Total grant cap of up to S$350,000 across EEG Base and Advanced

How Long Is the EEG Available?

The current EEG application window is available until 31 March 2027.

The Government has also announced that the EEG Base Tier will be extended to 31 March 2028 and expanded to all sectors. However, further implementation and equipment eligibility details have not yet been released.

Companies should continue to follow the current requirements until the new details are officially announced.

Are Air Compressors Eligible?

Selected compressed-air systems are supported for eligible Manufacturing companies, including Food Manufacturing companies.

However, not every air compressor will qualify. The specific brand and model must be included in the current pre-approved equipment list on GoBusiness.

Selected Atlas Copco energy-efficient and variable-speed-drive air compressors may qualify. Businesses should confirm the exact model before making a purchase.

Who Can Apply?

Under the current compressed-air equipment category, the applicant must generally:

  • Be registered and operating in Singapore
  • Be classified under Manufacturing SSIC codes 10 to 32
  • Have at least 30% local shareholding
  • Have group annual sales turnover not exceeding S$500 million
  • Use the equipment in Singapore
  • Select an approved equipment model
  • Apply before making payment or signing a contract

Businesses operating from residential addresses or home-based businesses are not eligible.

Final eligibility is determined by the relevant government agency.

2. The company must purchase, install and pay for the approved equipment before submitting its claim.

3. Required documents may include:
