Rotary Pump
The DVP LC Series is a range of single-stage, oil-lubricated rotary vane pumps engineered in Italy for demanding continuous-duty industrial applications. As one of the most versatile rotary pump families available, the LC Series spans capacities from 2 to 305 m³/h and reaches ultimate pressures as low as 0.1 mbar (Abs.) — making it the go-to rotary vane solution for vacuum packaging, food processing, dental systems, CNC machinery, precious metal casting, and more. Winston Engineering now carries the full DVP LC range in Singapore, including standard models and high-vapour LC WR variants for applications with elevated moisture content.
DVP LC Series — Lubricated Rotary Vane Pump
The DVP LC Series is a family of single-stage, oil-lubricated rotary pumps manufactured in Italy by DVP Vacuum Technology. The design uses a proven rotary vane mechanism: spring-loaded vanes rotate inside an off-centre housing, creating expanding and compressing chambers that draw process gas in and expel it through the exhaust. Oil lubrication seals the vanes, reduces friction, and eliminates oil vapour carry-over into the process line.
With a range spanning LC 2 through LC 305, there is a suitable rotary pump model for small OEM instruments up to large-scale food packaging production lines.

Features of the DVP LC Series Rotary Pump
1. Continuous-Duty Operation
Designed to run continuously within a pressure range of 400 to 0.1 mbar (Abs.). No duty-cycling is required for the vast majority of industrial processes, reducing wear and extending service life.
2. Oil Suck-Back Prevention
A dedicated sealing device stops oil from being drawn into the process line when the pump stops under vacuum. This protects both the downstream equipment and any product being processed.
3. Vapour-Free Exhaust
A float-type automatic oil recovery valve, combined with an exhaust mist eliminator, ensures no oil vapour is discharged during operation — a critical requirement in food, dental, and pharmaceutical applications.
4. Gas Ballast for Vapour Handling
A continuously-operating gas ballast allows the pump to handle intake flows containing moisture without condensation forming inside the oil. Ideal for packaging and food processing environments.
5. WR Variants for High-Humidity Applications
LC WR models (LC 25WR, LC 40WR, LC 60WR) add an oil/water condensate separation device that automatically expels collected water when the pump stops, allowing stable long-term operation in high-humidity processes.
6. Compact and Low-Noise
The LC Series has a minimal footprint and a low acoustic signature, making it straightforward to integrate into space-constrained OEM enclosures or production cells without additional noise attenuation.

Frequently Asked Questions — Rotary Pump
What is a rotary vane pump and how does it work?
A rotary vane pump is a type of positive-displacement rotary pump that uses spring-loaded vanes mounted in an off-centre rotor. As the rotor spins inside a cylindrical housing, the vanes slide in and out to seal variable-volume chambers, drawing gas in at the inlet and compressing it toward the exhaust. In the DVP LC Series, oil lubrication seals the vanes, cools the pump, and suppresses vapour at the exhaust — enabling deep vacuum levels down to 0.1 mbar (Abs.).
What is the difference between a rotary vane pump and other rotary pumps?
Rotary pump is a broad family covering rotary vane, rotary lobe (roots), rotary screw, and liquid ring designs. Rotary vane pumps like the DVP LC Series are best suited for medium-to-high vacuum (down to 0.1 mbar) with a compact footprint. Rotary lobe blowers (Unozawa, Hibon) suit high-flow, lower-vacuum duties. Liquid ring pumps (Pompetravaini) excel in wet or corrosive gas handling.
What industries use the DVP LC Series rotary pump?
The LC Series is widely used in vacuum packaging and food processing, dental equipment, CNC marble and glass machinery, precious metal vacuum casting, printing and paper industries, vacuum lifting systems, garage and workshop equipment, and laboratory filtration.
Is oil suck-back a concern with the DVP LC Series?
No. The DVP LC Series incorporates a dedicated sealing device that prevents oil from being drawn back into the process line if the pump stops while under vacuum. A float-type automatic oil recovery valve and exhaust mist eliminator further ensure clean, vapour-free discharge during normal operation.
Can the DVP LC Series handle high water vapour loads?
Standard LC models include a continuously-operating gas ballast for moderate vapour handling. For very high vapour concentrations, DVP offers LC WR variants (LC 25WR, LC 40WR, LC 60WR) with an oil/water condensate separation device that expels collected water on pump stop — enabling continuous operation in demanding humid environments.
